Lost luggages!!

Hi everyone! It's been for almost a week I have last updated my blog. We have arrived in Canada on Sunday night. The flight was long and boring. Our little TV's didn't work and all we did is watched around what everyone else was looking from the TV's because theirs worked. No fun when you are flying 10 hours. On the way here our luggage got stuck in Copenhagen and it took 3 days to get them here. On the last night we finally got our bags. Even the city got them lost during the delivery. It's been a mess. Tonight we are having our friends wedding. I'm really excited about that.. This trip had a hard start but it's getting better everyday. Hoping to have some pictures later on. Now I have to rush. Hair and make up must be done soonish.

It's Christmas!

It's been fun to see that I'm not the only one up this late. So many of you beautiful readers are making you last Christmas preparations and it's almost midnight.  Ham's and turkey's are in the ovens getting ready for tomorrow's feast. Some of you still have some wrapping work to do. Some Christmas trees still need decorations. I hope you will have time to rest and enjoy Christmas holidays! Last Minute!

First Chrismas celebration at my in-laws house is done. We are back home and in livingroom it's hard to walk around because all the suitcases are all over the place. Still the house feels a bit empty because our cat was left at the in-laws to be taken care of during our trip.

I'm a little worried about our flights. We are suppose to fly through Frankfurt airport. There is still a bit of chaos going on with all the canceled flights. Hopefully everything will be just fine and the weather gets better.


I made some last minute Christmas shopping today. But now everything is taken care of. All the gifts are bought and wrapped.


Tomorrow is just for packing. If we have time, I might bake a bit more cookies. There's couple new cookie molds that has never been tested, elephant and camel. We bought them from Indiska. I thought they were sweetly different.

Two-Times Christmas

This morning I woke up with a stuffy nose. NO, not fair. I don't want to be sick on Christmas Eve. I want to be able to taste all the goodies that my mom has made. I'm hoping it's the drier ear that my husband's parents's house has and I'm not use to it. So this little stuffyness will not turn in to a mega sickness, at least I'm hoping for it. Fingers crossed. My in-laws llive in the old veteran house built in the 50's. They have made a huge renovation to it. I think it lots a bit it's charm but that's only my opinion. But it sure keeps the heat better inside now. They also have an old yard sauna. We will have a Christmas sauna in the old sauna. The thing is that we are having two times Christmas this year. First we are having one at my in-laws and on the Christmas Eve we are going to be at my paren't house. That works out great for us.

Today is the last day to send Christmas cards in Finland if you want to get them going on time. Will be first class price tho.

Plates for Porridge

It's time for Christmas porridge. Well, almost. We will enjoy our Christmas porridge on the morning of Christmas Eve. It's a tradition in our family, but most likely in many others too. My husband and I stopped by at one flea market on last week and I found these beautiful Arabia plates for only one and two euros. The other one is used a lot, but I just could not leave it at the market. It looked so sympathetic. Also I found two sizes of old Sorsakoski spoons for couple euros. I think it will be good combination. Brings back memories from childhood. But now I need to go my parent's house and get the other suitcae for our Canada trip. It's getting closer and so is Christmas. Perfect!

Early Morning, Busy Day

These winter mornings are perfect time to light up some candles. It takes hours to finally have sun up and as fast as sun came up it will go down again. But the light show is beautiful on both ends. I can't even tell which one is more beautiful the sunrise or sunset, can you?

I have a full day today. I have to hop in a car an drive to one of best friends house to see her and her little baby girl. She has grown for sure. Haven't seen them since summer. Time sure flies by. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. During the evening my husband's sister's family will come over for Christmas treats. They will have their new born son to our place for the first time. Will be fun to see how our cat will react. Hmmm...Busy day, but all fun things to do. So I have to run so I will be on time in everyplace.

Something Old

Thank you so much for your comments from the last post. You are all too sweet! I had my final exam today before my Christmas break. I have to say that studing for an exam was so much easier like 10 years ago. I don't seem to have enought time or just don't know how to use it right. Our trip to Canada is getting closer and closer. I'm getting excited. There is so much to looking forward and so soon. Christmas is right behind the corner and we are leaving to Canada on a BoxingDay. But I'll enjoy my Christmas first. It's been a long wait for all the mom's great cooking. She actually bought me this old book from some vintage store. It's from the 19th century. Religious book for a priest or something. I don't really know for sure, but I like it. I also had a great surprise again. I got my second recognition from Sanna-Pauliina nostalgiaa ja patinaa blog. That was really sweet of you. Thank you!

Flea Market Finds

I didn't have much luck with my flea market hopping the other day. But I didn't have to come home with empty hands. I found these two old beer bottles. I have four old ones allready, but I keep on getting more if I find any. But I only buy the once with old Finnish beer labels on the beer bottle caps. I love that the caps are porcelain. I also collect Arabia's old plates. I found this cute green one. All the old once that I have allready are blue, but this looked so cute and well taken care for I just had have it.

Is it already Dec 9th?

Just a quick Hello! I came from my trip to Jyväskylä early this morning. I had a great time with my great friend that I haven't seen for a long time. I'm full of energy and I decided to hop in a car and drive for this vintage store that I haven't visited for a long time. So wish me luck! Maybe I can make some great treasure finds. I still need to get some Christmas presents too and stop by at a fabric store. Will be busy afternoon.

I finally put some other Christmas decorations around the flat. Nothing big, but just to give a Christmassy feeling! Little elfs here and there with their red clothes waiting for the big day. There is still couple weeks to go. Well I have to run. Hope you all have a great day!

It's December

It's December first. First Advent calendar door has been opened today. I finally dug up my Christmas decorations from the closet and  I hanged up some of them.
