Something Green

Finally I have time to sit down and write. These past two days I have been cleaning the flat like crazy. It's been way too long from the last time. Taking the carpets out, washing the floors and so on. I have lost myself even in the closets. I have found so many clothes that I don't wear so often so hoping to find some time and take them to flea marker for sell. I even found some time to sew couple pillows. Yellow seems to be a hip color for this spring. At least what I've seen in blogs. Our flat can't take any yellow or I seem to think so. But my color for the spring is green (now, before it's something else LOL). I didn't think I have anything green in the flat before I sarted to look. Pillow fabrics are from Ikea. Stripes are fun. I still need to find some dots to make it more playful.

I'm turning 30 this June. I have been thinking about should I celebrate or not? If I will were to find perfect place? (That is the biggest headache) Is there a theme? I know it's early till summer, but renting a place at summer time is not that easy. Lot of them might be booked already. For my husband I had surprise party in the 20's theme. He has been honest and said to me that if I want a party, I have to make it happen. He will help, but I have to make it happen. That's fine. I love planning parties, but the location has to be found and booked.

Vihdoinkin minulla on aikaa istahtaa koneen ääreen ja kirjoittaa. Viime päivät olen siivonnut kuin myrskytuuli. Edellisestä kerrasta tuntuu olevan aivan liian paljon aikaa. Päätin viedä matot ulos ihanaan pakkaseen ja lattioidenkin pesu tuli todella tarpeeseen. Jopa vaatekaapit saivat kyytiä. Keräsin aikamoisen kasan vanhoja vaatteita, jotka ovat parhaimmat päivänsä nähneet, joten koitan saada kiikutettua ne kirpputorille. Sain aikaiseksi myös ommeltua muutaman tyynyn. Keltainen näyttää olevan oikein hitti väri, kun seuraa muiden blogeja, jotka valmistautuvat kevään vastaanottamiseen. Meidän huusholli ei oikein sulata keltaista omasta mielestäni. Minun kevään värini on vihreän sävyt. Tai ainakin siihen asti kunnes keksin jotain muuta. Kuvittelin ettei meiltä mitään vihreää sen enempää löydy, mutta kun tarkemmin katsoo, onhan sitä. Ostin vihreät raitakankaat Ikeasta. Ne olivat minusta niin raikkaat. Kaipaan kyllä palloja ja pilkkuja raitojen sekaan ja miksei ruutujakin.


Täytän tänä kesänä 30 vuotta. Olen tässä pohdiskellut, että pidänkö juhlat vai en? Mistä löytää paras mahdollinen paikka? Parhaimman paikan löytäminen tuntuu tuottavan pientä päänsärkyä. Olisiko juhlissa mahdollista teemaa ja jos on niin mikä? Onhan tässä kesään vielä aikaa, mutta monet paikat varataan ajoissa. Viime syksynä pidin miehelleni yllätyssyntympäivät hänen täyttäessääbn 30 vuotta. Juhlimme 20- luvun teemalla. Mieheni on myöntänyt, että jos haluan syntymäpäiväjuhlat, on minun parasti itse osallistua juhlien järjestämiseen, jos haluan että jotain tapahtuu. Hän on tietysti mukana, mutta päävastuu minulla. Pidän juhlien suunnittelusta, mutta juhlapaikka pitää löytää ja varata.

Changes

It's late Saturday night. My husband went to bed already, but I felt like writing something. This is my 94th or 95th post so not that many posts left before I get to 100. I don't know should I a bigger deal about the 100th post. I was thinking maybe having a lottery. I have never had one before. But if I have one, I don't know yet what to have as a prize. Any Ideas?  =)

Other thing that I have been thinking about is the language issue. I love writing in English, even tho I'm not perfect in it and I make mistakes. This is just one way for me to keep it going. But I have also thought about writing in Finnish  too. Should I start making posts with both languages. I don't know if my bad English scares people away.

The third thing I have thought about has something to do with my old ballet shoes. I was very young girl when I danced ballet. I have been thinking about maybe starting ballet again in an adult group. I haven't been courageous enough to do it yet. Maybe next autumn I will.

Tomorrow we are going to visit my parents. Will be nice to see them after a while and have my mom's cooking. She's the best cook.

Friday Feelings

                      It's finally Friday and my training is done. I'm so happy about it. During this weekend we are going to visit our Godson and see my parents too. Our Godson is going for his first vacation in a week and they are flying ti Australia. Yeah, I know, can I turn any more greener. It will our friends first trip with children and it's such a long flight too. I'm hoping that everything will go just fine. Today was a taco night, but we were so hungry that I didn't have a chance to take any pictures. We ate them all in a heartbeat.

Our hard drrive broke the other day. And the problem is that it was the back up for everything. Pictures, movies, school work and all. How many back up back ups you really need? I wish we can work it out and get everything out safely. In the hard drive box are two hard drives so I'm hoping that only other one got broken. I'm not going to panic before I'm sure of what's going on and what is really broken.

Tonight we are also planning to have skype connection to Canada again. I love skype. It's an awesome way to keep intouch. But I should get going and make my call to over seas. I miss them very much...

Sunny Sunday!

I love the sunny weather. It's so beautiful. Finally I had a chance to sit down and update my blog. Thank you so much for your comments on my last post. And I apologize that I haven't been able to update before and read+leave any comments in your beautiful blogs. Sometimes you just don't have enough time for it even tho you really want to. That also means that I haven't have time to sew my pillows or do anything creative. Well I guess you can call Master's thesis a creative work. It just doesn't feel like it.

I had a nice week. Spent a girl's day out with a very good friend of mine. We made time to sit down and talk about relationships, married life and children. It's comforting to talk to someone who really understands you and is in the same situation in life. It's nice to talk about future plans.

My husband and I have been in Finland for a month now and we are already talking about when we are going to be traveling next and where. But I guess we are trying to save up this whole year and leave the traveling for next year. That sounds horrible for me and him but with all the plans we have been talking about now, It's time to save up. We usually travel every year and not always even once. It's a passion for both of us. I hope we can manage.

Last weekend when we went to flea market hopping I found these old Arabia's coffee cups. Both of them only cost 1 euro. The other one didn't have a plate. Hopefully I can find it later. The blue one is called Rukinlapa and the other one is the Diamond. So cheap, so pretty. I could not leave them behind.

Tulips

I was trying to download my pictures of the flea market finds, but this program or what you call it doesn't want to work with me today. I have had problems with downloading too many timeas before this too. So this picture is from the "hall way". I took it last weekend and it was the only one that worked. So I have to try to put my flea market pictures later.

My husband's parents gave me that old street sign. I haven't been able to find another ones. Even tho I can see them all over in blogs. Someone has found them, but seems to be out of my reach. I also bought my first tulips this spring, but they were good only one day. That was a bummer. So I quickly put them in a glass jar and poured some water in it, so they lasted couple days more.


I haven't have time to sew any pillows yet. I've been working on my Master's thesis. On Thurday we should have something to show for the teacher, but I don't know how will I manage. I should make a list and put down all the things and esseys I have to do. Maybe that would help me with scheduling.

Today my plan was to hit the gym again. After a long break it sure felt good after working out. So I'm hoping to keep this gym thing going. I had a great start so maybe that will help. I don't have any big goals to achieve. I just want to feel better. But I think I have to go get myself ready to for today.

SuNdAy

It's Sunday night. Lots of nice things can happen in a short time. Yesterday my husband's sister and her family came over for the whole Saturday afternoon. We cooked together and played some boardgames. We had really nice time. I have to say that my husband's sister makes awesome chocolate cake. It was so good. We all ate so much that our tummies were sore.

Before they came, we went to quick flea market hopping with my husband. I was so happy that I made some good finds. Couple old Arabia's cups were so cheap that I just had to have them. I'll but pictures later. Today I was in  the gym. Felt good after a long break. After working our, we went to ikea to get some frames for the posters that I had in my last post. I also bought some stripe fabric with spring colors, bright green. I hope I have time to sew some pillows durng next week. If not, I'll do them next weekend.

Recognition and Weekend!

It's weekend, again. What happened to last week? I'm not saying it's a bad thing that weeks just flies by and we are getting closer to summer, but I have so many things to achieve before summer is here that I'm starting worry if I have enough time. Last week was fantastic. Our dear friends from further away had a visit on Thursday. It was really great seeing them after a year. I know, a year, no fun at all, but at least we talk on the phone way more often. Their beautiful daughter had grown so much. She is so cute! Now they are hoping for a boy. That just makes me wonder, are we going to be the last couple to have a child? Everyone else is going on their second and third. Hmmm...anyways...

Here is the beautiful poster that I won from the weekdaycarnival blog's lottery a while ago. I still need frame it and I also got another smaller poster for just surprise. Both are beautiful posters. Lately I have seen these posters in many interior magazines. I love them.

I had a good week. I also got a recognition from Sari (pink pionies) blog. Thank you so much Sari! You made my day. I found Sari's blog not so long time ago and it's a beautiful blog. I was happy find her. You should have a visit also.

So this recognition had a challenge. You need to confess seven things about yourself. So here are my seven.

1. When I was younger, I didn't think highly of flea markets, but NOW I just love spending time in them and  finding new treasures. I love flea market hopping. I try to do it as often as I can.

2. I love to eat Fazer's red chocolate with Kick's ( black licorice) at the same time. I take a bite on the other and then on the the other. I love the taste of mixing up those flavors.

3. I eat liver casserole with ketchup

4. I'm addicted to my daily calender. I have to write everything down in to my calender. I can't make a coffee meeting with friends without a calender. I can't make ANY plans without a calender.

5. I have restless feet. I have to fumble and swing my feet all the time.

6. I can't stay in the bath or swimming because I don't like wrinkle fingers. I can't touch anything when I have wrinkle fingers.

7. I have a passion for old chairs. The "patina" is the most beautiful thing that time has done for the chairs. You can see the living in it. I love it.

So I'm giving this award, recognition to these beautiful blogs that I read on almost daily. They all have that something SOMETHING that I really love.
